Decathlon Magic Bike

Decathlon unveiled the "Magic Bike", an ultra-connected e-bike concept:

Decathlon:

A screen combined with steering wheels, a lockable kickstand, an automatic transmission... The Magic Bike is the latest ultra-connected electrically assisted bike (VAE) recently unveiled at Decathlon.
Decathlon wanted to put the French on a bike. The sports market based in Villeneuve-d'Ascq (North) recently presented its new electric bike (SAE) with the iconic name Magic Bike. Developed by the B'Twin brand, it is still only in the concept stage, and Decathlon has yet to announce a price or release date.

Improved security system:

Loyal to its owner, this bike uses a wireless key or phone identification system that automatically opens when the driver approaches it. Like the other electric models sold at Decathlon, the Magic Bike has a screen in the middle of the handlebars that displays a lot of data such as speed, time, route or even remaining kilometers. In addition to the identification of the driver, the safety is increased by the wheel lock, which is activated when the position is stabilized. When it locks, the bike goes into alarm.

Up to 90 kilometers away:

The Magic Bike has no gears because “just like a car, the smoothness of the automatic transmission takes care of everything. Whatever your route, the motor adapts to your pedaling,” announced Decathlon on its dedicated page. The bike has an electric assist that reaches a speed of 25 km/h. Cyclists have to learn new riding habits as the lever moves on two wheels to activate the brakes. From a mechanical point of view, the belt is fully protected, which "reduces maintenance", according to the manufacturer. Magic Mike's strength lies in its endurance ... The battery life of 30 kilometers can be reduced to 60 or 90 kilometers by adding a second battery that can be placed directly on the frame. To protect the driver, the lights are mounted on the upper and middle parts of the handlebars. Decathlon wants to be a promoter of cycling and reminds that 60% of domestic trips of less than 5 kilometers are still made by car, according to Insee research. "Our mission is to put as many people on bikes or scooters as possible to help all everyday heroes get around smoothly by speeding up your travel," the Magic Bike team posted on the site's homepage.
